Minor one for today, a quick return to The Ballad of Galldor, but more to come for this one throughout the week!
Today's scrawl is simply titled Passages. It marks the end of Act I of Into Namarhel. I might take a short break from Into Namarhel, before delving into Act II.
I've renamed one of the characters, which I forgot to mention on Wednesday. The bricklayer, previously going by the name Wardred, is now Berhal. The name Wardred never really felt quite right for him.
I missed Monday's update for reasons outside of my control, but I'll try to sneak in an extra scrawl, maybe tomorrow, to make up for it.
For now, here's today's scrawl: The Lull.
I'll come back to the ballad. I didn't want to stay away from Namarhel for too long and risk losing momentum. Here's today's scrawl: The Breach.
I'm going to break my own rules for the scrawls today. Scrawls are meant to be written and done. The Ballad of Galldor will be the first exception to that rule. It didn't feel complete on Friday, so I revisited it today.
I added two stanzas, and removed one of the others that didn't really fit. There is still more to come though, this ballad isn't done quite yet!
I was staring at a blank page for a while, not sure what to write. I wanted to take a break from Into Namarhel. Sometimes something as simple as a title is a good prompt for me to write. I tried a few, they didn't really speak to me.
Finally, I typed The Ballad of Galldor onto my screen.
I had fun with this one. I think it's a longer ballad, so I'll have to come back to it one day and find the rest of the missing words!
Today's scrawl is titled Consequences. It's a scene that was never in any of the old drafts of the story, but ever since I wrote The Temple, I knew it was coming.
